During a recent episode of the popular talk show ‘Koffee With Karan,’ Bollywood star Janhvi Kapoor opened up about the devastating moment when she received the news of her mother, the legendary actress Sridevi’s sudden demise.
In the heartfelt conversation, Janhvi shared that it was her younger sister, Khushi Kapoor, who played a crucial role in comforting and consoling her during this tragic period.
Describing the emotional scene, Janhvi explained to the show’s host, Karan Johar: “When I received the call, I was in my room and could hear sobbing from Khushi’s room. I rushed in, overwhelmed with grief, but what stands out is that the moment she looked at me, she stopped crying. She sat beside me, offering solace, and remarkably, I haven’t seen her shed a tear over it since.”
Khushi added her perspective, stating, “I felt the need to remain composed for everyone because I’ve always been seen as the strong one.”
Sridevi passed away in February 2018 during the family’s visit to Dubai for the wedding of Boney Kapoor’s nephew, Mohit Marwah. After the ceremony, Sridevi extended her stay in Dubai to shop for Janhvi’s 21st birthday. The cause of her tragic demise was later confirmed as accidental drowning.
